The Greatest Marriage Proposal of All Time

The Greatest Marriage Proposal of All Time

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

I know you can't wait to hear about my marriage proposal story...Sorry to disappoint you because I also cant recall the details of it all. However, that shouldn't bar us from talking about this great topic. Right?

What I know for sure, marriage proposals are quite important to both the giver and receiver. Its such a good invitation from the groom- to -be, to share his life with the love of his life.

Here, he opens his heart to his dear bride on what she should expect of him and of the relationship as a whole.

Lets break down this invitation by Jesus to what he offers in it:

  • Come to me: Relationship
  • I will give you rest: Spiritual provision
  • Take my yoke upon you : Partnership
  • Learn from me: Insight
  • I am gentle and humble in heart: Comfort
  • My yoke is easy and my burden light: Relief

He invites us to marry ourselves to Him first and foremost, then all the other relationships (even that of marriage with your spouse) shall come second.

If the priorities are out of order then be sure that the relationships we choose shall suffer terribly. Pray_Big_for_Your_Marriage
You probably know this fact out of experience or are almost there. You don't have to suffer any more neither do you have to go there if you are not married yet.

The preventive measure to this illness is simply saying 'Yes' to this proposal. You already inside that turbulent marriage are not late either, because he is still at the door awaiting your answer. All you need to do is put down your pride and ego, turn back and you shall find him waiting.

I know your marriage proposal might be remarkably memorable. What did they promise you? Is it comparable to that of Christ as highlighted above?
Do you wish to join in and ride on this one? Let me know in the comment section below.
If you will, share with us your proposal story too.
