Isolated but not Helpless
I
come from a very rich country both in culture and in heritage.
However, on this day, we are in a big crisis. Our enemy army surrounds our city and we can barely move around. We are
not only in a lock down, but quarantined as well. Or are we not? All our
supplies are over; did we even have time to stock? Coz we were attacked over night
without a notice, and I dare say, we did not see this coming. After all we had
just paid evil with good several days ago. You really want to know what
happened? Or we just jump right in to today? I bet you are itching to know
what happened previously.
You see, just the other day, our
enemy camp planned several attacks and tricked our king but our man of God
instructed our king differently which made our enemy king furious thinking that
one of his men was colluding with our king. To cut this long story short, they
finally surrounded our city with the aim of taking our man of God captive and
our city was in great fear, but the man of God was not even alarmed. Instead,
he asked the Lord to open the eyes of those around him. And when He did, they
realized that those around and within them were more than those without. Then
he also asked the Lord to blinden the enemy camp, which He did and he took the
opportunity to lead them to another place, for he told them that they had lost
their way. Once their eyes were opened, they realized they were outside the
city, in another neighboring city. Our
king had an opportunity to strike, but he decided to do the honorable thing. He fed and
gave them water then asked them to go their way. Therefore, don’t you think they should have also returned the favor?
Anyhow,
we have no left supplies and we are
doomed to die of hunger. In fact, I just
heard another woman ask the king to judge over what she termed as unfair
treatment from her friend and colleague. Over
what you may be asking…imagine they had had no meal for the day; after
sleeping hungry several nights, and so agreed to eat their only sons. Last
night they had eaten her son and today the friend refused to hand in her son
for supper and instead hid him. Isn’t this
extreme.
So now, here we are with my three friends. We are even more disadvantaged because we have a terrible infectious disease and no one wants us close to them so they have thrown us to the city gate where we have been isolated for several days. With the attack, if those inside are already eating each other, don’t you think we are at a worse state?

Today looks like a bright day though.
I do not know why but…yea. Seems to me like such a great day. In our normal
passive discussions, we realize that death
is calling. “If we go inside the
city, we will die of hunger and if we stay here, we will as well die. So,
how about we just go out there to the enemy and surrender to them. If they kill us, well and good if they let
us live, we shall have something to eat right?”
And
out we go with less confidence but we just got to do it. We are met by open tents and scattered stuff all around on arrival as
though there was an ambush. For a second we get more cautious and quiet, because
it could be a prank and trap to get us. Nevertheless, we get more evidence that
they are not in their camp. Their food
is untouched and in plenty. We do not even know where to start. Overjoyed,
we sit down and eat, eat to our full, we are eating for all those days we have
seen nothing to eat. Then we start looting tent by tent for keep. Moreover,
as an afterthought, we remember that
such good news needs to be shared with those dying in the city.
Are you asking what happened to them?
Imagine they sort of heard sounds as those of an ambush by their enemy army and
decided to run to the river valley for their lives. They even went reducing
their armors and garments by the road so whoever wanted to follow them would actually
easily find them. That aside, my kinsmen
now have enough to eat and we are glad that we- the outcasts- Isolated by the
city gate, were able to save the entire city- of course by God.
But
do we say!
I challenge you to jog your mind further and tell us in the comment section below who the man of God was.
- secondly, would you rather die of hunger or the virus?- covid-19 of course.
Mmmh man of God Elisha...
