Shortening January 

The month might already be harassing you with a few bills here and there or you could be still in the festive mood because of offers here and there and your savings. That said though, it's important to strategize living your standards for less. You heard me right, it is possible. You get it right the first time, you get it all right. A good start does not guarantee you a good ending but it's a door to a good culture if well cultivated to give a good ending. Highlighted below are a few tips on how you can make it happen. 
Simply put how you can reduce the 55days associated with January to seem 15. (If you know you know)



1. Harmonize
What have you in your hand? Gather it all and see how much resources are in your reach/disposal. What can be cancelled, cancel and what can be merged merge. Practically, this is what I mean. You have your 50k salary, a side hustle that will give you up to 10k that month if faithfully done and a 5k debt by person X that he will be returning tomorrow. Out of all that, you have house rent, fees, transport and shopping that are compulsory bills. Cancell the bills against your sure income. Then what is left can be used for savings and leisure bills. The essence here is to ensure harmony in your finances. Make do with what you have.

2. Prioritize
Start with God. You can never go wrong. He will help you know how to prioritize your bills. Give priority to the compulsory bills. The rent, food and fees as highlighted above. In order of your most important. Then let the less important come last. The likes of entertainment/TV subscription... anything that you can still survive without or rather you are in a position to reduce or improvise and still live uncompromisingly comfortable. Your post pay for instance, can be reduced or even go to cheaper alternative. The goal here is to ensure the most important things are given their utmost care and weight as they deserve. The most emergent need met as fast as it should. That's priority.

3. Strategize
Harmony and priority will help us set up strategies that will run us a long time. Strategy is all about planning. And planning is done with available resources. Most of the time with what you have at hand because often times what we expect to have is never assured. So then, with what you have left after harmonizing your resources and using some in the most priority issues, what do we need to do with what's left on the table? With 10k left after harmony and priority, we need to know what we need to use it up for. Otherwise, we can have it used within a day when you still have 20 more days to live through your next income. Should we spend it on clothes, fuel, groceries, laundry or paying off other debts?

 Whatever it is we choose to spend it on, has to be applicable and be within our limits. We might need to save a quarter of it, have some other quarter put on emergencies and insurance and leave the rest for Shoping and entertainment. The core here being having a proper and probably written down plan on how to utilize and spend the resources left in our care.
