15 Habits to Cultivate in the New Year

1. Appreciate your current situation

While you complain for having to walk through to work, someone is wishing they had the legs to walk on their own while others are wishing they could have known this earlier, they would have walked even further to avoid their obesity and lifestyle health issues.
While you wish to have more money, someone else is wishing for the peace and love you have because he has money but never joyful or at peace.
Thank God for your situation. There's someone else wishing to be in your place.

2. Appreciate your support system

Praises will do no harm but bring you joy and happiness. Your support system is what gives you strength when not in the mood to be strong.
Bless them and curse them not in all your talk and endeavours.

3. Appreciate your circle of productive friends

Productive friends will always be fewer than the other clique. But you got to differentiate them from the fake ones. Their criticism should be welcomed because they are the only genuine people around you.

4. Appreciate the resources at your disposal and be a good steward

You are a steward of what you have. Wealth especially is a virtue we take for granted because we always strive for more and crave for alot more than what we are holding. It's time we appreciated that someone below us genuinely also prays for what we have. What if God decided to take it from us and give it to them?

5. Appreciate the given time

Time is another resource given to us freely and all alike. No one has more hours than the other. How we utilize it though, is what matters. Do you want to sleep for more hours or lesser than yesterday? Do you want to watch movies leisurely all night? Do you want to have a side hustle some hours before going to bed after your main Hustle?. Its all upon you to decide. And it's all that will make one a millionaire and the other a billionaire and yet another a pauper.

6. Smile all the way

Genuinely smile even to the stranger on your way, for you never know how much effect this is to someone's bad day or someone's deppresed state. It could be the medicine they have been craving all day or even for a long time. A genuine smile is an ice breaker.

7. Morning devotions

Start your day with God at all time with your family, a friend, your kids or even alone. Pray and read the word, it is the best body recharge you can have for each day.

8. Evening meditation

In the evening, sit yourself down before going to bed and assess your day. See what you achieved, what you can still do tomorrow and what you need to thank God for. It keeps your life organized and keeps you in check.

9. Stop shouting, and talk

Shouting puts them off. Your kids, your spouse, your siblings, your friends. All lneed a calm word today. Don't shout at them, just tell them what you need them to know. Shouting 'I love you' is sounded or rather interpreted as I hate you and vice versa. Shouting can find one at a breaking point and really make a mess of them. Avoid it at all costs.

10. Hug your loved one oftenly

Hug not for favours but for a reasurance that you love and care for them. Hug to give someone a hope. Hug for a shoulder to someone in grief. Hug for the right reasons.

11. Change and monitor your sleeping habits

Sleep early and wake up early for a perfect rest. Research shows that early sleep is medicinal. Sleep before 10pm is healthy. So be the 'hen' and 'kid' that's associated with early sleep, and see yourself grow to a healthy being.

12. Break off social media a while each day

Social media can be addictive. Especially to the depressed it can really be the place to find comfort. Social media is oftenly a mirage though, so at some point it might break you completely. Restrain yourself oftenly for some time, even when it's your source of income.

13. Share

Sharing is caring. Share a meal, share the word. Have a conversation with someone, deep or passive. Just don't stay in your own cocoon, but share.

14. Be selfless

Unlike many who are selfish in this world, try be different and be selfless. Esteem the other better than you. And your prayers will be answered doubly. For God's heart is melted at this.

Finally,

15. Be temperate in all things.

Whatever it is you do, however good or bad it may be, do it temperately. Too much of anything is poisonous. So be sure to stay out of the extremes.

  1. There are many lessons I can share on various ways of attaining a winning attitude in life especially on this new 2022 year. For the purpose of understanding this subject of winning, I wish to use an acronym of the word ‘WINNING’. This will help to adopt a few tact, facts and aspirations in life which will help in attaining the always coveted dreams each one of us have in life; the dream of winning. This is where the positive in the negative works out.
    Word of God;stick to it.
    Insight; always think positive
New heart; learn to learn to have a new heart
No short cuts; avoid the easy ways
Invest; save and use all that you save
Nip good fruits; choose good habits
God first and last; depend on God in all
